I strongly recommend staying at Wae Rebo Lodge. It is positioned in the idylic landscape in the middle of rice fields and run by one of the most inspiring people I've ever met. Martin is a great person and the best source of information about Wae Rebo people and their culture. We had a real privilege to join him on the way to one of the most beautiful villages in the world.

The traditional village of Wae Rebo Manggarai Tengah is a village with a unique architecture in the middle of the Flores mountains. To get here, you can rent a motorbike from Labuan Bajo or you can take a trip that takes 6 to 7 hours. Denge or Dintor Village is the last village that can be accessed by vehicle. You can stay at the homestay before continuing the journey by trekking to Wae Rebo which takes 3 to 4 hours. To stay at Wae Rebo a rate of IDR 250k includes meals 3 times a day and if you don't want to stay, a levy fee of IDR 100K.

Very calm and quiet place to relax. No electricity, no cellular connection, no internet. It's just wonderful! Traditional food. View of rice fields. Do not walk through the rice fields in the evening and at night, a lot of snakes. Do not be afraid, you are not interested to them! Have a rest here before going to Wae Rebo!
