it is a good place to visit because Qila Mubaraka historical monument in the heart of the city of Bathinda in Punjab, India. It is recognized as monument of national importance and maintained by Archaeological Survey of India. It has been in existence from 1100-1200 AD in its current place and is the oldest surviving fort in India. It was here that Razia Sultan, the first woman to take charge of the Delhi throne was incarcerated on her defeat and dethroned.nIt is recognized as monument of national importance and maintained by Archaeological Survey of India.nnOne learns history through such monument, though little difficult to reach. Also visited gurudwara within the premesis.nnAn ancient fort which has been rebuilt innumerable times its history is fascinating.nIt was here Sultan Raziya was imprisoned by Malik Altuniya in The 13th century. Where she married him and set out to reclaim the Delhi Sultanate with an army. However she was defeated and both died.nIt is here that Guru Govind Singh ji stayed and a Gurudwara Qila Mubarak Sahib was built by Maharaja Patiala to commemorate it.nA newer Gurudwara has been built now and is much visited.nThe rest of the fort is in a ruinous condition and currently under repairs.nnThis fort is in center of city.nA good and big fort. Most parts of fort are closed by ASI.nA gurudwara is on top of fort.Entry fee is free and it can be visited by sunrise to sunset.
Mubarak (Punjabi: ਕ਼ਿਲਾ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ, Hindi: क़िला मुबारक, Urdu: قلعہ مبارک), is a historical monumentin the heart of the city of Bathinda in Punjab, India. It is recognized as monument of national importance and maintained by Archaeological Survey of India.[1] It has been in existence from 1100-1200 AD in its current place and is the oldest surviving fort in India. It was here that Razia Sultan, the first woman to take charge of the Delhithrone was incarcerated on her defeat and dethroned.[2] The bricks of the fort date back to the Kushana period when emperor Kanishka ruled over Northern India/Bactria. Raja Dab, along with emperor Kanishka, is believed to have built the fort.[3]
