Ganesh Shankar Vidhyarthi Airport (GSV Airport) is New Kanpur Airport with the new terminal building. The new terminal building is located at a far distance from old terminal building. The new terminal will have all world class facilities and will provide access to approx 200 passengers altogether at same time. The new airport will benefit the Kanpur City and nearby towns and cities as it will provide connectivity to almost all airports in India. The new airport will reduce dependency on CCS International Airport, Lucknow. The new airport of Kanpur can also serve international flights. The new terminal building also have space for further extension of terminal building and aprons for aircraft. The construction work of this airport will be completed by end of 2021 and it will be start serving by January 2022.

Good place for domestic civil enclave airport. but kanpur is 12th largest city of india.and kanpur world famous industrial hub of north india.so kanpur's public demands seperate big international airport connected with all domestic cities of india as well as gulf/other countries.nHounrable chief minister shri akhilesh yadav had planned to new airport at jainpur area. now this airport shifted to shivli 40 km from kanpur. so this airport may be option of new international airport of kanpur in future
