This place rivals Mt. Rushmore. This was my second visit. It seems to me that the museum has been significantly upgraded since last time. I was a little pressed for time, so I couldn't spend as much time as I wanted in the museum. Still, I highly recommend it. If you get the chance, spend the extra $4 and take the bus tour which brings you much closer to the carving of Crazy Horse. You'll learn even more and you most assuredly will see wildlife. Mountain goats and sheep are plentiful here so have your binoculars and/or camera ready. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's an affordable and fun experience and is a must see even if you are only mildly interested in the history of the native Americans and various tribes and history. Don't miss it! Enjoy 🤠!

The actual mountain carving is a work in progress. Don't let that fool you though. There is so much more to see and learn here. This is a Native American cultural center. There are many many works of art and Indian artifacts. Chief Crazy Horse is the appointed master subject, but there are quotes and words of wisdom from many of the great tribal leaders. We had only a few hours to spend here, but I could have spent days combing through everything available. The short 22 minute movie gives a great history and overview; be sure to take a moment to watch this. I can't say enough about how touched I was after visiting this place. We saw Mt Rushmore also, but between the two, this is the one to see.

There are great scenery views outside the museum, there is great history inside the museum, It has a very large parking lot, outside you're going to find the starting project of crazy horse monument. They do have a guided tour to the monument, the museum has so much history, so much to learn, so much to teach to our future generations.

Quite a good number of collections, they managed the museums (four of them in same campus) very well.
