I have many childhood memories about this church. Renovated a few years back. Church has a cemetery. Nearby a Hindu goddess temple. Locally Said to be both are sisters. Good communal harmony among people.

Being one of the oldest Christian Churches in Kerala, St.Mary’s Orthodox Church Kallooppara which is popularly known as Kallooppara Valiya Palli (കല്ലൂപ്പാറ വലിയപള്ളി) boasts of a legacy which is more than Seven Hundred years old. The church is under Malankara Orthodox Church Niranom Diocese and is made a Pilgrim Centre almost 10 years ago. The history of Kallooppara can be understood only along with the establishment of this great church.
