Small town with only one shopping centre. Only main road is marketplace....

Important business centre of southodisha adjescent to chatisgarh,telegana and Andhra-Pradesh.mostly people depend on agricultural and related trades and non timber forest produce.this kotpad is one of the purchasing market of the locality.it stays bit isolated from jaypur,southodisha and nearer is jagdalpur ,chatisgarh.thus this business centre has good relations with chatisgarh ,andhrapredesh and telegana states.education has not up to mark and inhabitants are traditional in nature.they worship nature for rain,agriculture , forests etc.infrastructure has not been developed one.railways station and bus connectivity enhances dignity and values reflect on the social and cultural opps.tribalism and market is most value base .
