This is not just any other mausoleum or cemetery. This is the final resting place of the ancestor's of the Gardners, a family whose forebears enriched the history of not just India but of North America and Great Britain as well. Every stone and grain of dust in Village Chhaoni bears witness to the glorious and romantic past of the Gardners of Kasganj - in particular to that of the legendary Col. William Linnaeus Gardner of Gardner's Horse.
