Really a magnificent Church just located clsoe to Asansol bus station. From outside the cathedral looks beautiful and well maintained surrounded by the beautiful garden.From inside it's looks really marvelous specially the glad Marble floor and the tomb adds to it's initially splendid decor. The place is very calm and Serene ambiance and it is very close to the railway station. The entire church will give mesmerizing views.nHope my review helps

Sacred Heart Church in Asansol was built in1875 by the British Railway Company which was in charge of the main Howrah Delhi railway line. After independence when the railway division merged with Indian Railways, the church's ownership rights were handed over to the Kolkata Archdiocese. When Burdwan Diocese was formed later Sacred Heart Church came under the newly formed Diocese and became its Cathedral.nSacred Heart Church was built using British bricks and special imports of British bricks were permitted for this purpose. This colonial style red coloured church is a major praying centre for the Catholics of Asansol and also attracts many tourists because of its elegance. On Sundays and special occasions hundreds of people visit this church. The beautifully made Grotto of 'Our Lady of Lourdes' is an added attraction here.
