Excellent, one of the few centers to rehabilitate injured and abandoned animals, staff well trained and caring. Nice place to see how the animals are nursed to health and put back in the wild.

The only wildlife care facility adjacent to a national park (Kaziranga) near Bokakhat town of Assam, India. Run by Wildlife Trust of India with international conservation partner International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) supported by Assam Forest Department since 2002. The wildlife care centre is located at Panbari Reserve Forest of Kaziranga Tiger Reserve.

The Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC) was established in August 2002 and is the first rescue and rehabilitation centre near a protected area in India. It is located in Borjuri village adjacent to the Panbari RF near Kaziranga National Park in Assam. A joint venture of the International Fund for Animal Welfare - Wildlife Trust of India (IFAW-WTI) and Assam Forest Department, CWRC was constructed with the support of the Animal Welfare Division, Government of India and is also recognized by the Central Zoo Authority (CZA)nThe centre functions as per accepted international protocols and guidelines for rescue, treatment, rehabilitation, translocation and placement of displaced wild animals. It has essential veterinary infrastructure. It also has spacious holding shelters for the animals.
