A cultural center. A must visit place. Its abit far from the main majuli town center. But a great place to visit. I regret that the government doesn't much attention to this place.

Very nice place. This is one of the oldest Satra in Majuli. There is also a Museum where various ancient script, dress materials, Sanchpat Puthis, some utensils etc. are preserved. In the dress materials some part of the dress were made of gold threads. Some objects from Ahom Kingdom are also preserved there.

We went through an unknown road kaccha that googlemaps showed us and it was horrible. It was built on a mothauri probably and was very narrow. We returned using the other path that was in good condition. We met with a young bhakat who showed us the way in, we offered our prayers in front of the three deity and looked around the beautiful campus. They didn't open the museum that day. Some repair work was going on in the campus. There was ponds inside the campus. Also a lodge nearby. Footwear has to be removed before entering the campus and only people wearing traditional clothes are allowed to see the diety. People were other clothes can see and offer their prayers just not within the main room. There were also some deers and rabbit kept which were donated.

This is a satra in Majuli, one of the largest riverine islands in the world. It is a religious place, and the namghar is something special indeed. You will be wandering through the satra, the bookshop, talking to the students, and the lovely, quiet green of it all - its a very special experience. Very peaceful. 🙏🙏🙏
