This review may help those who are willing to get a covid test at SMCH. My brother was suffering from jaundice and typhoid. His condition was critical. I wanted to admit him in any private hospital of Silchar. But from the reception of every hospital I was asked to go to SMCH first. My brother needed a doctor badly so I went to SMCH. I thought my brother will be admited in SMCH. But when I arrived at SMCH, I found that everybody was freaked out of any patient with fever. Nobody wanted to go near a patient with fever. They asked me to get a Covid test. And he was not admitted in hospital. Instead was asked to stay at home for 14 days. Firstly I had to register him for Covid Test. From there l got a print out of details. Then I had to take him to the Emergency Department, and gave them the print out copy. Then we had to stand there and wait 3 hours. Then came the technician, collected sample from mouth and nose with cotton buds (teating was completed within 5 minutes). Then they gave me the paper and asked me to give them a photocopy of the same. Then I had to go outside for xerox. After giving them the photocopy, they asked him to stay at home for 14 days. And they asked to collect the Covid Test report after 3 days from the Microbiology department. My brother got his medical treatment from a local doctor. So we didn't have to wait for another 3 or 4 days. God bless that doctor. I knew his Covid test result would be negative because we already had his Jaundice and Typhoid test result and he didn't had cough or any other corona symptoms except fever. Here I don't want to blame anybody but Corona Result delivery should be faster because nobody can wait for 3 or 4 days to admit there critical patient. Lastly I want to thank SMCH for the free of cost Covid Test.
