പാലക്കാടിൻ്റെ പൈതൃകത്തിൻ്റെ അടയാളംnകേരള ഫോക്‌ലോർ അക്കാദമിnnക്ഷേത്ര കലകളുടെയും വാദ്യോപകരണങ്ങളുടെയും പഠനകേന്ദ്രംnnWe have arrived in Palakkad in the period of the months of Chingam, Kanni and Thulam. We see the harvest-related festivities during this time. The monsoons have arrived and there is life and growth to be celebrated. People have every reason to rejoice: the mesmerising weather, a bountiful harvest and a sense of gratefulness for all that they have received. Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Theyyam and Koodiyattam are some of the best known performance art forms from Kerala. The performances, their costumes and masks are seen. Simultaneously, there are festivals like Onam, Navarathri and Kalpathi Ratholsavam, which is grandly celebrated in Palakkad. Centrally, Kalamezhuthum Pattum is being depicted. Tying all these festivities together are the musical instruments used here. We see these highlighted and understand their roles. Now it is time to move on to the next part of the year.
