Just spent a couple of days in Ashok Tree resort,nAsok tree is an extremely nice place to stay in .nIts about 15 min away from Tiruvannamali .nThe rooms are beautifully designed , clean and very comfortable .nThere's a lot of attention paid to each little detail.nThe food is excellent, healthy, local food made each meal from fresh and organic ingredients to fit the needs of those who come to refresh their bodies.nDr Radhika , a specialist in ayorveda gives very good diagnosis , and extremely wonderful body treatments and yoga lessonsnThe Ashok tree crew are all friendly and professional.nI had an exceptionally good stay and i recommend it with all my heart

October 2017 my wife and I led a yoga retreat at Ashok Tree. Our group was 18 people of many ages and backgrounds. I can't say enough wonderful things about this retreat center. The land is well cared for. The food is stunning. Much of the food is grown on-site and is prepared in Ayurvedic fashion. There are sweet and friendly cows that are milked daily for yogurt and chai. The rooms are simple, clean, welcoming, bright, and cheery. Some of the best rooms I've stayed in in India, and I've traveled extensively throughout the country and been in a wide array of accommodations. They have screens on the windows so you can have them open and not let mosquitos in (can't emphasize what a difference this makes!) There's an Ayurvedic doctor on-site named Dr. Radhika and she facilitates any treatments (massages, panchakarma, etc) that anyone might need. She is kind, caring, and knowledgable. The massages and treatments are really great too. The management team is made up of several amazing people. The director Michele, made things very easy to plan from afar. And Laxman, the general manager and point person on the ground is amazing. We felt well-cared for and nourished. The yogashala is gorgeous. Being gay in India can be rough, I think homosexuality might even be illegal. But at Ashok Tree everyone was as open and welcoming as if we were in our liberal little city in the States. It simply wasn't an issue, which was really comforting. I could gush on and on about this place but you should just go and experience for yourself. I can't wait to go back.

The teaching quality, the natural treatments and all the ashram staff are all outstanding.
