Being a local this is my honest review:-Used to be more spiritual earlier...now it has just become an artificial blunder...every thing is being rebuilt time to time making the temple lose its natural beauty and the trees have been cut to make rest house which does not even get used. After govt intervention everything has become costly here for the normal public/devotees...new pandas are making it a business making a bad name for them and for the good ones too...the committee is corrupted and only works of the VIPs and govt officials.

It's good but should be modernized. It's been heard that kids and others backbone and other body structures are found there or nearby. People are beheaded. If people and government make an effort then it can be a nice place.

The Kamakhya Temple also known as Kamrup-Kamakhya temple, is a Sakta temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas.Situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India, it is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas of Saktism : Kali, Tara, Sodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamalatmika.Among these, Tripurasundari, Matangi and Kamala reside inside the main temple whereas the other seven reside in individual temples. It is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus and especially for Tantric worshipers.

Most peaceful temple ever I had visited ever. We no need to depend on others of the temple members for doing our pooja. We can do our selves. Once you visit here you will feel a new born mind freshness.
