Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy Temple is located at Tirupati Town, Andhra Pradesh. As per legend, Jambavan concecrated this temple by installing idols of Goddess Sita, Lord Ram & Lakhmana and was later renovated by Emperor Janamejaya .Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple is under the control of TTD. This temple which has a glorious history of over one thousand years was built by the Chola kings in 10th century A.D. This temple was well developed by various kings especially by Sri Krishna Deva Raya in 15h century. The symbols and raja mudrikas of Vijaya Nagara dynasty can be seen on the rock walls of the outer mandapas. There is an Anjaneya swamy temple located just opposite to the temple According to Varaha Purana, during Treta Yugam, Lord Sri Rama resided here along with Sita Devi and Lakshmana on his return from Lankapuri Sri Kodanda Ramaswamy gives darshan in standing posture with Lakshmana & Seetha. Generally in all Rama Temples, idol of Seeta Devi will be on the left side and Lakshmana will be to the right of Sri Rama. But in this temple, Seeta devi is to the right of Sri Rama and Lakshmana is on the left side. In addition to the Moolavar idols, Urchavar, Bhakta Anjaneya swami, Lord Krishna & Chakrathalwar are in the garbagraha. Must have darshan of the temple when visiting Tirupati.
