St. Clair County Courthouse

So I'm standing in line at 11:58. A young woman walks up to me ask me what I'm waiting on. I tell her to get a tag. She tells me that I will have to come back. All these ladies are busy & they close for lunch from 12 to 1. Now it's not what she said but how she said it. RUDE, & unprofessional. I guess she feels like she can be that way, because I have to tolerate her as I need to get a tag. So I'll comply & return at 1. Hopefully the next person will be nicer & more professional especially since she told me she had only been there 4 months. If not a better experience at 1 I will be using Ashville. As a tax payer in St. Clair County I have choices.

This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a government office. I’ve been waiting in my car in 96 degree weather for over an hour. When I called at the hour mark I was told “we just haven’t gotten to you yet” and then unprofessionally just not spoken to while I could hear others give their personal information over the line because I was confused as to whether she was going to speak again. I eventually hung up to preserve the privacy of the person who did not know I was listening. I understand the virus changes circumstances, but this behavior is unbelievable.

My now husband and I recorded our marriage at this courthouse. The women working there said the internet was out and they were unable to service citizens until 1:30 PM. (Printed signs were even made and put on the door to cover up their party) Well, at 1:30 PM they all came out with presents and food and were 100% having a Christmas party. I don’t care that they were having a party, but there was THE sweetest old man janitor doing such a great job cleaning and they lied to him and didn’t even invite him to the party!! He was like “is the internet still out?” And they full on lied to his face because they were mean and didn’t want to include him and the internet was never out. It was just a ruse to cover their party! I know he saw the presents he didn’t get. It made me so sad. So 3 stars only because I feel bad for the sweet janitor and they also married us in under 5 minutes. Give him a raise or at least invite him to the next party.

Everyone is courteous. I never have to spend long there.
