The real name of Chilarai or Bir Chilarai was Shukladhwaj. His father was Bishwasingh, the founder of the 16th century Koch kingdom, his mother was Padmavati and his brother was Raja Naranarayana. He was a skilled general of Naranarayana. He was known as Chilara because he fought like Chilara. Chilarai served as Dewan or Minister, which is why people called him Chilarai Dewan. Due to his bravery and skill, the Konch army defeated the Bhutia Kashari and the Ahom army in many battles.nnDhubuni Ghat and Panchpi Dargah are the places where the leader is proudly standing.
