I collect this information because .. recently I have done a research on Tea cultivation of Lakhimpur district.. just a degree level research ..not Ph.d or M.phil Dejoo Tea Estate:nLocated on the North Bank of the Ranga River and bordered by the hills ofnArunachal Pradesh to the north, Dejoo is one of the most picturesque gardens of Assam.nThe river Ranga forms the eastern boundary of this garden. Its tropical climate andnrainfall are ideal for high quality clones like N436, P126 and S3A3, which give Dejoonteas its unique quality which has been recognized over the years by institutions like thenTea Board of India and other excellence awards. Dejoo is particularly noted for Orthodoxnteas with chunky Golden Tip coupled with a classic Malty Liquor. It is said that Queen ofnEngland drink tea from this tea estate. Some say the name Dejoo evolved from the Tibetan word “Dzong”, while othersnsay it came from “DI” meaning river and “ZOO” the name given to rice liquor brewed bynthe local tribes. The most significant aspect of Dejoo is that over the years utmost carenhas been taken to maintain the ecological balance and this has been done by preservingnthe water bodies and Natural Forest inside and around the garden due to which the gardennis a paradise of wild life.nThe tea estate was established in 1878. At present, Dijoo tea estate is managed bynGoodricke Group Limited. It is an India-based tea producing company headquartered innKolkata. It is a part of the Camellia PLC UK- the world’s largest private sector teanproducer. 857.11 hector areas are used for tea cultivation by the company. According tonthe officials 1000807 kg tea was produced in 2017, 1005827 kg in 2018 and 1068516 kgnin 2019. Tea estate is providing hospital facility for its workers and officers. Nearly 2300npeoples are connected with the Dijoo tea estate.
