Rajasthan Trekking offers a hike up to the Monsoon Palace that is well worth the effort for the compelling vistas observed along this scenic journey. Though steep at times, the hour and a half hike is not too onerous and can be undertaken by folks in modest to good shape. The rewards for the effort are truly worthwhile. The panoramic views of distant hills and valleys, as well as the city extents and it's assorted lakes are wonderful. But it is the ultimate goal of the sunset view from the Monsoon Palace that is the true reward. Sudarshan was the English-speaking guide, along with Chandon, the hike's trailblazer. The former was eager and chatty; the latter, charming and quiet. Both made for good company on the brisk ascent. I recommend the engagement highly for a unique perspective while in Udaipur.
