Archaeological Museum

Great collection including pictures from all Jain sites, idols or parts of any carving findings from south India especially Madurai, thirunelveli and theni. One should spend time viewing all the placed artifacts.. there are some olai Suvadi..I was able to see it while they were preserving them using some chemical, blessed.

Small museum but a great collection.

Paintings and sculptures depicting the life style of Tamilians and famous kings have been kept in the Museum.

For the local entrance price of 5 Rupees, the museum may be worth a few minutes on a visitor's schedule; but if one is forced to pay the foreign entrance fee (which is a jaw-dropping 2,000% more than the local price at 100 Rupees), it's not even worth looking at.nnSkip it completely and invest energy in going to places with more on offer - and at least a semblance of fair, equitable pricing schemes!
