Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal

Buildings were painted freshly when we visited. Loved the architecture of the building. The statues and the items kept in the museum were interesting. Only thing I didn't like is that the museum walls haven't been painted back yet and the walls have been used as love walls with names here and there. Shows our lack of respect for our history and monuments. It would be better if they appoint someone in the museum area to make sure no one scribbles on the walls and other items. If they caught someone doing such acts, they should be fined, taken a picture of them and their picture to be displayed somewhere in the museum for their lack of respect and illegally trying to damage our monuments. The least they could do is put a board here and there of the fine amount to be paid for damaging the property.

Small palace. Paintings are really good. Archaeology department is taking steps to maintain cleanliness. Human and pigeons are culprits who are responsible for looking unattractive. Here you can see how Tamil script evolved from 3rd century BC. Light show is there every day. Archaeology department kept sculpture neat and clean. Mahal is must watchable place in Madurai. Don't miss if you would plan to visit Madurai.nnOne important thing is, below 12 years are not allowed strictly, post lock down period. Not sure when will they open for kids.

Historical place, great architecture. There is an old woman sitting outside near the entry gate at the corner selling jewelry please do buy things from her, she really needs help.nThankyou :)

This monuments are one those which make our country beautiful.Its a good place to visit in your free time. Kids would enjoy a lot. But the thing is children below 10 aren't allowed here due to Covid-19
