Basri Shah Mosque

Basri is the title related to Basra Which a City in Iraqe . Thus Dargha name Clerify that the saint resting in peace here was from Basra Iraq . So Dargha Basri Shah .

According to many historians, this is the most oldest Mosque in Kolkata. This is also architectural attractive. There are a lots of history behind it's establish.... But,,, now a days some problems arrives.. the surroundings are not clean and very much crowded... The atmosphere fall down.

This is an old mosque, which is situated near bagbazar, beside the ganga river ... it is a heritage building, must visit place..

According to many historians, this is the oldest mosque of kolkata. This mosque is locally known as Usha Mashid. Although, the Mazar of Bhoshri Shah aka Basiri Shah is located attached with the mosque. Earlier, there were motifs all over the mosque but lost it beauty after the worthless renovation work in the recent years.
