The Royal Museum inside the Kota fort in Rajasthan has one of the largest collections of precious everyday articles of any other princely state in India. It is rivaled only by large museums like Salarjung in Hyderabad and the Udaipur Palace. The entrance to the museum is richly decorated in Rajasthan-style paintings.nnThe main attraction in the open arena is an armillary sphere that is a model of objects in the sky consisting of a spherical framework of rings. Whereas most such models in Europe were earth-centered the medieval kings and the scientific community in India already knew that the earth revolved around the Sun. Inside the main museum hall is a large statue of His Highness Colonel Ummaid Singh the erstwhile king who later served the Indian army.nnThe next section of the museum has many old and royal articles from ice-cream makers to ivory bangles and kerosene fans to medieval locks & keys. The outdoor exhibits also included large vessels used for cooking and made with a combination of 5 metals like iron, copper, tin, silver, and brass. They have not rusted for more than 500 hundred years. There is also a royal souvenir shopnn♿ Accessibility Features:nYes=Ramp access.nYes=A wheelchair-accessible Entrance.nYes=A wheelchair-accessible Restroom/Toilet.nYes=A wheelchair-accessible Seating.nYes=A wheelchair-accessible Parking.
