All hungarians who ever get a chance to travel around North India has to visit Alexander de Csoma Korosi tomb. Highly recommended place !

A true hidden gem of the town. Mostly forgotten by locals and unknown to most of the travelers, this place holds the final resting place of many of the British whose efforts made Darjeeling the Queen from a village. From the founder of Darjeeling George Lloyd, to the great Tibetologist Alexander Csoma and taxidermist and Ornithologist Louis Mandelli all are resting here for the past 200 years. Spend a few moments with them. Appraise their efforts. Please.

Let's take you to Darjeeling's neglected tourist today, but one heritage !! In place.nThose of you who have been to Happy Valley or Lebong. They may have noticed a tombstone, white (Alexander Csoma de Kőrös the famous Hungarian linguist) and a blue rectangular signboard from the Indian Archaeological Society indicating it was a Heritage Place.nBut we will not get through here.nAfter visiting the Darjeeling Zoo, we usually take the upper road to Lebang Kart Road instead of walking to the mall. The road is very beautiful. The number of vehicles is low. Lots of old cedar trees on both sides, birch trees covering the sun. Occasionally light comes through the gaps in the leaves, a light dark play, damp cold air, and the call of birds from the tree will take you to another world. Looking down to the right, Lebong Cart Road, cars, pedestrians are busy with gaps in the trees. Or green moss and ferns on the rocky wall. Sometimes a house or two. Flower care in his verandah, a couple of windows, smiling face shaking hands with you. Cute mountain hairy dog, will ever go a little further with you.nThe legs are aching, there is a seating area near the front bend. Green wooden bench.nAnd a little further on is a small shop, behind which the graveyard can be seen. Inside is a small church-shaped house. Further down the black ribbon-like pitch road, further away the green tea garden. The obscure village behind him. Blurred hills.nLet's pass that shop and go down the small boulder-sloping road. Gently lower. As soon as you take the first turn, the church-like house on the right. Inverted V-like roof. Huge wooden door. A long yellow stripe in the middle of the door. Maybe a symbol.nInnumerable blue flowering trees grow carelessly in the front yard of the house. The road goes down like an English S. And innumerable small and big graves all over the square. The graves are very old. Most are in very bad condition. The epitaphs cannot be read. But the place is strangely beautiful. Small and large stone slabs around you.nTwo puppies and their puppy are jumping and playing. Down the road and away in the tea garden.nWhen Darjeeling College is open, the local boys and girls gather to talk at this cemetery.nThere are two tombs here. I have already mentioned General Lloyd and another, Alexander Coma.nBut you will find another sight on this old tomb. Thai Monastery. And a husky dog on his porch.nCome down to see the old cemetery next to that blue plaque on Lebong Cart Road. Come to the sidewalk on the opposite side of the road. See the red sky in the green tea garden before evening falls.nGradually the white sky became colorful. The gardens below, the factory, the sloping roads, the distant hills look like a dream in the magic light.nYou can go to the mall from here in two ways.nStraight chalk market along Lebong Cart Road, from there cross the Butter Pass.nOr take a short walk in front, walk along the narrow paved road that goes up, PWD Bungalow, Ramkrishna Shiksha Parishad Boys School in front of the mall again along the upper road.
