Jorepokhri

It's a amazing place to visit. Just a few minutes away from Sukhia Pokhri. The road is covered by dense pine forrest and will definitely amaze you with the views. This place is situated at the top of the near by mountains so you can get a bird's eye view of the surrounding. The park, the lake and surrounding view is just awe-inspiring. Just visit it.

Went to visit with lot of hope that will be able to experience some enchanting views of mother nature, but frankly speaking, was disappointed as it seemed like more of a hype than the actual scene. The park was built with good intention but God knows why it's now been left as a deserted place. Couple of Golden fishes, a sculpture of a five headed snake (Naga) and a small water body are the main attractions here. As I was staying at Lepchajagat, it was a quick visit for me but yet not found the visit worthwhile. Visitors who are staying far, ponder before you book a car to exclusively visit this place!!!

This place was a pleasant surprise on our first trip to Darjeeling...nSerene natural beauty...nHopefully, the place is maintained properly in the future..

Beautiful place to spend a few hours.

History has it that Jorepokhri was a natural pond home to Salamander's, with time they created an artificial pond in the same location. The Salamander's migrated after their natural habitat was replaced by a man-made one. Today Jorepokhri is a tourist destination nestled amidst thick Pine forests. It is 45mnts drive away from Darjeeling town located above Sukya bazar. The lake water is clean an home to ducks and fishes.
