Darjeeling is a town in northeast India that is famous for tea, trains and scenic beauty. Darjeeling tea is thin, light colored, aromatic and soothing to drink. The leaves are grown in the hills around the town. Farther up in the skyline, travelers can see the snow-covered peaks of the Himalayan foothills. Access is by a three-hour car ride from the nearest airport or a seven-hour journey on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railroad, a narrow gauge railway known as the “toy train.”

Darjeeling West Bengal India is Beautiful and amazing views tourist attraction in India, while summer months from April to June are ideal time to visit to Darjeeling and October to December is also visit this place. Darjeeling famous for great view of Kanchanjungha Range of mountain and toy train that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage.

It’s one of the beautiful hill stations of India in West Bengal but to be frank it’s been neglected by Govt.nSince my schooling days and later as Tour Leader I used to take at least 2-3 groups from Lala Tours to Darjeeling and stay at Hotel Central. After almost 35 years, I ventured again but was very much disappointed as it’s been so neglected that right from Bagdogra Airport the roads along side till I reached up to Darjeeling was so dirty. I feel there is no Municipality.nBut I salute the Police Dept as I found during my stay of 6 days that they were so neatly dressed in their uniforms and standing alert with no mobile phones in their hands and the women police were so well looking with red lipsticks and all were so polite and duty bound.nPeople of Darjeeling are very down to earth but though many are very well educated and found school children in a dignified uniforms but they are poor but self respected.nI feel it’s the only tourist place which is neglected by our Tourism Ministry.
