Small Buddhist Temple with the statue of Chamba. It takes 15-20mins to go inside and see around. You can take a break if coming from Srinagar/dras/Kargil side for food. It has few eateries right opposite the temple and offers some good food.

Unique is what it is. Not as grand as the hype about it. The structure / monetary constructed below the statue ruins the entire view of the chamba statue.

It's really not hard to believe that we had such a rich culture in the valley and Buddhism was spread in every corner by looking at these gorgeous statues. There are many in the area, 3 prominent ones. I have visited all and wish the government really works to conserve these treasures as environmental factors are really affecting these monuments.

The famous Chamba statue is located on the outskirts of Mulbekh village along the Kargil - Leh national highway. Its attraction is that the statue is carved on a large rock by the roadside.

Its an really must watch Gompa, which has a foot long Buddha statue sculptured on it and just 45km from kargil so if you guys are in Srinagar and heading to leh and this fun or if you are coming from leh to Srinagar must wait and watch and not miss it from leh its 220km. you also have some resturants right in fromt of this temple.
