We hired a cab for one whole day, they charged 500 rupees extra to what they told us, for no reason at all. Completely illogical, moronic behaviour. They squeeze money out of tourists and non locals. It is better not to book from them.

It was a very good experience. We booked a car from Rishikesh to Chopta. The driver was cooperative, and the whole experience was hassle-free.
