It is one of the best airmen selection centres. The IOs are very supportive and give instructions to the candidate as per their need. When I went there, I observed that they were very much punctual. We had got the reporting time of 5:30 but candidates started reaching there from 5:00 a.m. Even after that, the staffs were ready. Later, I knew from them that they were in action from 3:30, that too in the cold morning. If you are going there for phase 2 examination or any other selection procedure, prepare well with some fruits or food items as you will have to stay there for a whole day. Although there is a canteen there, but it is not free. You will get only 10 to 15 minutes for breakfast and another 10 to 15 minutes for lunch. As I went there for phase 2 examination in the winter, I was shivering due to cold because they allowed only a t-shirt about 15 minutes before running. For running, we were taken by a bus 1600 metres away at the start point, and we had to run to the gate of the airmen selection centre. The push-ups, sit-ups and squats were to be performed in a shed inside the centre. You will have to fill a large number of forms. We were left at about 8 pm. Those who were not selected in the running had to return in the morning. The CO 'Ravi Ahlawat' is a very jolly minded person and talks to candidate in such a way that he would be their friends.
