Dev mogra is totem for most of the Tribal people living in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya pradesh. People have been praying to their mata( mother or goddess) for many many year ago. Dev mogra mata plays important role in the lives of Tribal people. People seek her blessing for important events in life like marriage, birth etc. Also they donate a portion of their produce from the farm, specially wheat ( abundant in that area). Every year mela is celebrated which drags lakhs of tribal and other people to this place. One should go during festival to understand the culture and customs of tribal people.
