Towards Barlach pass

Zingzingbar is the proposed south portal of the 16,000 feet (4,900 m) high Bara-lacha-la pass tunnel approximately 175 kilometres from Manali. The north portal of this tunnel is expected to be at Killing Sarai and is expected to reduce the transit time on the avalanche and landslide prone route by up to 2 hrs.

Zing Zing bar is the camp of BRO, Road Building organisation at the height of 14010 ft. It is a cold region because of its height. It is on the Manali Leh highway, open in the month of May or June and then again gets closed by Oct or Nov. There are few dhabas at this place where you get few things to eat. Well there are many more dhabas just 3-4 kms from zing zing bar. There you can also get beds to sleep in the dhabas.

Zingzingbar is a road building camp and tea house situated 18 km from Bara-lacha-la on the Manali to Leh road in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an altitude of around 4,270 m. One of the most beautiful views along the leh manali highway on the Himachal side after Sarchu comea at zingzing bar.

Cold but very nice place. We saw sunrise from here in early June. Snow was partly melted, resulting in small streams in the road. There used to be a small shed, but when we went there was no one around for a very long distance
