The Inspector General of Police, Kochi Range is having his office at Marine Drive at Ernakulam.The Districts of Alleppey,Kochi City,Ernakulam Rural,Kottayam,Thrissur City and Thrissur Rural Districts are under his jurisdiction.Kochi being the Metro City and the city of Ports of Air and Sea and various other public sector undertakings like Shipyard, Container Terminal,LNG etc and the High Court, the post of Inspector General of Police assumes great importance as well as great responsibility. In other words it becomes a lucrative and prestigious post when compared to other Ranges in the State and the IGP has to riseupto the service demands of these establishments. Hats off to the present IGP who is excelling well in all the fields of the police work.
