Strings Museum - Museum of Music Instruments

Charged us Rs 300 per person for entry and there was neither guide nor proper signage explaining anything. The collection was pretty meagre and next to no Indian instruments or ancient/vintage Indian music scrolls or similar. The place was locked with a sign saying they’d be back and a phone number and when we called it a woman turned up who knew nothing about the instruments or their purpose. Eg the percussive frogs in the pic she claimed were ‘just some wooden toys or something I don’t know about it’.nGarbage given we’d just paid Rs 600.nWorst of all she didn’t give us any tickets claiming the ‘machine was broken’ and nor was there a sign with the ticket cost so it’s a rip off and I can’t in good faith recommend it at all.nAVOID.

It's really a wonderful experience for music lovers. Most of the instruments are rare and collected from all over the world. Few of them are big and very rare in India. Over 200 instruments
