A Commercial Laundry operating within a residential neighborhood, without taking into account the side effects of long-term, continuous air and water pollution. By providing jobs to people living in the vicinity, they have effectively silenced any opposition with regard to the Pollution. The terraces of the nearby houses are covered with fabric-lint and dust; the loud machinery functions right from about 4 AM and continues till 11 PM, and the smell of detergent pervades day and night. The minimally treated waste water is released into the nearby backwaters. Such a place should not be functioning in a residential area.
