I took the overnight train here from Agra and then the overnight train to Varanasi that night, giving me a day to explore Khajuraho which I felt was plenty. I Booked a hotel room just to drop my bag and shower. The station is small, so it's hard to get lost. Arriving in the morning, I was swarmed by taxi drivers. 150 Rps was the best rate I could negotiate downtown from a tuk-tuk. Station felt clean and safe, Khajuraho is so low key compared to Delhi, Agra and other large cities, it was a welcome change of pace.
