The Hong Kong Market in Dimapur came up in the early 80's. It was started by Tibetan traders and a few local young people. Most if the goods sold here are from Bangkok or China. The market was known throughout the North East as the latest styles were available. The advent of net marketing has taken a toll on the market. Most of the Tibetan traders have migrated to other countries. Now you will get cheap Chinese goods smuggled from Myanmar. It is situated just near the railway station , Goods starting from clothes to other electronics items and from local to imported crockeries are available here . One needs to bargain well as the prices are not fixed like show rooms or branded stores. You will have a good time strolling around the market, also it is very big market so it will take you alot of time if u want to visit most of the areas in the market.
