LoL - that's the short form and most people working here would know it by the name of Looms. If you've ever walked around in Leh, you've most likely noticed this big wood and glass building on the corner. That's looms. Women of Ladakh work on their farms and Village homes deep in the heart of Ladakh and This setup works to create products and market them to the western world, giving the women a chance to earn their livelihood in a sustainable way and making them independent. As a visitor you're always welcome to go check out their place and the fabric and the processes they work on. Check out their social pages on Instagram etc and find all the cool stuff they've been making. And since you're in Ladakh or planning to visit Ladakh, here's a little good luck wish for you! Ya Julley! ✨ enjoy your trip!

It's a great effort by the administration to empower nomadic communities and local artisans. Ensuring that Ladakh goes deeper into the value chain of Pashmina fabric, it has been a great source of income and exposure for the community. A nice showroom in the main market of Leh, it's a great stop to see the work that's been happening and shop for some great authentic souvenirs

Amazing initiative that supports and empowers local ladakhi women. They have clothes made of 100% pure pashmina, as well as yak, camel and sheep wool. Really good designs and handcrafted wollen articles.

Authentic handloom products made out of organic Pashmina, Camel, yak and sheep wools sourced directly from the nomads. It is a fair trade cooperative run by women.

You can get woollen and pashmina delicates here in it's pure and authentic form. Best place to know about the rich culture of Ladakh.
