What a temple it is. In the middle of the forest. The river which is leading to Kabani and Kaveri is flowing on the three sides of the temple making the temple premises almost a peninsular. The main diaty, Lord Shiva is so powerful, says the believers. It is said that Lord Shiva is here with Godess Uma (Parvati) making it a Uma Maheshwara temple. The other diaties here are Godess Parvati herself and Lord Ganesha. There is also a Vana Devata in the campus itself but where pooja is performed only once a year in 'madhyama' way.nYou will experience the pleasure of sight seeing as well. You may get the chance of meeting wild elephants and other animals.nIt is on the route from Meenangadi to Pulpally in the dist of Wayanad in Kerala. Meenangadi is in between Kalpetta and Sultan's Battery. From Meenangadi the temple is 10 KM away. The routes to the temple are like this.n1. For those who comes from Calicut side:- Kalpetta-Meenangadi (take left turn to Appad, Moonnanakkuzhy road)-Moonnanakkuzhy-Paplassery-Chelakkolly. Moonnanakkuzhy is a junction connecting Meenangadi-Pulpally road and Battery-Mananthavadi road. Distance from Kalpetta is 25 km.n2. For those who comes from Bangalore, Mysore side:- Sultan's Battery-Beenachi (take right turn to Mananthavadi road)-Moonnanakkuzhi-Papplassery-Chelakkolly. Distance from Battery is 16 KM.n3. For those who comes from Kannur area:- Reach Mananthavadi- Panamaram (take left turn towards Bathery -Nadavayal route)-Nadavayal-Kenichira-Moonnanakkuzhy-Papplassery-Chelakkolly.n4.
