You have to travel a long way through forests to reach this place. Try to go around 11AM so that you can explore the place and come back before sunset.

Awesome place....the ramsarovar pond mustery is reality....not a myth. This place is not famous because it just not maintained like tourist place coz of another plans of Sonbhadra government.......rather it is really so amazing and 'highly' adventurus place........

Most of it is ruined. But it is a beautiful place to go. At this height you will feel great. You will be able to see beauty of nature from the height of Vijaygarh Fort. There are 7 ponds of different colours. I have heard that scientists had come there to calculate the depth of the pond but they were unable to find the depth of it. So, it's quite interesting place to visit. You can click very good pictures from up above the fort. You will be able to see monkeys and apes there. Just be careful and enjoy the moment.❤️❤️

The big hill fort incapsulated majorly with fortification and bastions. Gate, temples, Inscriptions, cave paintings, many statues, 4 big water ponds (named as Mira Sagar, Ram Sagar), Tomb of Saiyyed Jain-ul-Abdin Meer Sahib/Hazrat Meeran Shah Baba and many good monuments on fort. This 5th-century Vijaygarh Fort was constructed by Kol kings. And was renovated by Maharaja Vijay Pal in 1040. Vijay Pal was a great Jadon Rajput King. Last ruler of Vijargarh Fort was Raja Chait Singh of Benares. Between the 2 tanks there was a palace known as Rang Mahal which had artistic rock carvings and assumed as palace of Princess Chandrakanta. The fort and Princess Chandrakanta were pertinently described in the novel Chandrakanta by Devaki Nandan Khatri.
