Sri Shankaranarayana Temple

Good place..

I had gone to attend a family pooja and liked the ambience. The temple is abt 33 kms from Mangalore towards Kasaragod. The bus stops right in front of the temple steps. Its like a typical kerala temple and very peaceful to sit and meditate. The temple has a huge hall with stage for functions. Abt 300 ppl can comfortably dine at one go. There is adequate parking space for about 30 cars. The access road is not great though

When you drive from Uppala town to Kumbla town in Kasaragod district, the landmarks are the Thribhuvan Vegetarian Restaurant and Khaderia Dargah before reaching Naya Bazar.  There is one A.J.I. School here followed by places like Kukkar and Mallangai.  The Fakir Dargah is the next landmark followed by places like Bandiyod and Shiriya.  Shiriya has a bridge and the road to the left before the bridge takes you to the famous Shiriya Dargah.  The Dargah Road is skirting the river all the way and has a special charm.  After the bridge, places like Thangal veedu and Arikkady comes before finally reaching the Kumbla bridge and the Kumbla township.
