Such a natural wonder was recently found near Ratnagiri’s Rajapur; the very beautiful Chuna Kolvan waterfall. There is a tall semi-circular edge waterfall situated 5 kilometers into the forest from the Mandrul-Jharewadi path, 16 kilometers to the north of Rajapur. From there, the Chuna Kolvan waterfall flows gigantic and gorgeous into the valley from a height of 125 feet. There are many interesting places in Rajapur taluka such as the dense forests, the kokani wadis in the greenery, Dhutpapeshwar temple, the famous Ganga of Rajapur, all the beautiful waterfalls and the hot water springs near Unhale. Now days, Rajapuris becoming famous for the pre-historic Rock Carvings found here on the lateritic plateaus.

Tiny little railway station with a platform on only on one side. This means that sometimes the train will stop on the opposite track, and you need to climb down/up the train from the rail track. Don't keep waiting in the train otherwise the train will simply depart altogether. At times the train stops before or after the platform and you are expected to get off on the rail track then itself. There is no announcement that you need to do this. In the image attached you can see the train has stopped on the other side. I had to also jump on the tracks and climb over to the platform along with my baggage - all while another train was approaching on the other side. Quite adventurous and risky.nOutside the station there is a rickshaw stand to travel to the main Rajapur village. The rickshaw take passengers either on exclusive or sharing basis. Exclusive costs about ₹250-300. Sharing is about ₹50-100 per person.
