Shishkan Mandal Karad came in to existence on 2 August 1920 after a decision in the meeting held to pay homage to the great national leader, Lokmanya Tilak. The institution is successfully working for quality education to the people in the vicinity of Karad. Due to its illustrious career, the institution has won the valuable trust and confidence of the society. Tilak high school happens to be the first school of the institution. The school boasts of having produced a number of illustrious students of who are late. Shri Yashwantrao Chavan. (Former Deputy Prime Minister of India), Late Shri Khashaba Jadhav (first Indian to win an individual Medal in wrestling at the Olympics) Raosaheb Gogate (well known industrialist) Late V.S page (former speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Council), to name just a few.nnThe institution is a result of inspired people from the various strata of society.
