Khasi Heritage Village

Its sprawling meadows one side of which is the Khasi heritage village while on the other side is sacred forest. It's very peaceful and open place. You could also get yourself wear traditional Khasi dress and feel the village environment. You can plan for a picnic with family and friends and have small trekking into the sacred dense forest.

Nice place across the Mawphlang Sacred Forests, around 25 km. from Shillong. There are a few cottages in this campus that they call Khasi Heritage Village, with things kept therein, that typical Khasi people generally use in their households. The place is though not well kept and maintained. The cottages, the household items , the park, etc all are in bad shape. Govt of Meghalaya needs to renovate the place and make it better and the place around also more tourist friendly. However, the scenic beauty all around the place is simply awesome, breathtaking.

Nice, calm, serene beauty all around. Though, not well maintained. Right beside the Mawphlang Sacred Grove.
