I want to say that do not book your tickets from MTC because In February 2020 me,my husband and my son was coming from Karimganj to Shillong and there was a worst surprise for us it was that the bus in which we have to come it was a mini line bus not luxury bus and the seats are too small that was an uncomfortable journey.The bus driver had picked up extra passenger's and bus was totally crowded so I will prefer to go with Jaggannath travels or Rayan travels or you can go for Network travels

Very good service,very informative and punctual!nIf you contact the Meghalaya tourism office then buses are available that can take you to the desired places like:Cherrapunji,Mawsynram, Mizoram.nAlthough routes and trips are planned on a day to day basis.Trips and availability of buses may vary from day to day.Buses are also available for local sight seeing.

Shillong bus station of Meghalaya transport corporation. Buses available to variuos places of north east. Bus to Agartala, Silchar,Tura, Dharmanagar, Tezpur available. Day & night service bus are available. ASTC buses are also operate from here. ASTC bus to Guwahati and Tezpur are available. Current fare to Guwagati in AC ASTC bus is ₹142/- which less than half of shared taxi & sumo fare.Basic amenities are not good.

From here only 180/- rs fare for Shillong to Guwahati ASTS depot( beside Guwahati station) on Tata sumo. And it's totally Govt transportation. It's so ceconomic and very comfortable journey.
