Absolutely wonderful experience at the Shalimar Emporium. Mr Lateef offered us a delicious tea from his homeland of Kashmir and graciously showed us his products while sharing information about his culture. His scarves and pillow cases are absolutely gorgeous- I’m going home with a beautiful Kashmir blanket scarf!

The best place i ever visited . The collection of handicrafts here is mind blowng n the collection of pure Pashmina shawls are awesome. This place deserves 5 stars for his collection n another 5 stars for his hospitality.....

Lateef’s shop was one of the first we saw when we arrived in Udaipur and it was by far our favorite. It is a clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated little store with gorgeous scarves, shawls, pillowcases, rugs, and other textiles made by members of his family in Kashmir, which he is so proud of. Be warned: though Lateef is patient and not at all pushy, it is impossible to resist buying something (even if you’re generally a cheap shopper like me) because you’re never seen more beautiful pieces! Don’t hesitate to stop in; he’s also willing to ship :)

Had such an amazing experience in this shop. Not only is Lateef a wonderfully hospitable and passionate man but his goods are legitimate and of a very fine quality. He is upfront about his prices and why they may seem high to some but he does not compromise on quality. I bought multiple scarves from the shop and am extremely happy with my purchases. Lateef became a dear friend over the next few days and I would spend time in the shop drinking Kashmiri tea and talking about life, politics and India.nnThis shop is a must if you want to know exactly what your shawls are made of. Great shopping experience at Lateef's, as his name means, he is more than a nice person, the kind of seller that is driven by passion about his products and his roots, he gave me the right advices, which helped me to choose the right product for my budget, and at the end Lateef gave an additional discount ! I would totally advice you to pass by, at least to learn more about the products and to taste a delicious Kashmiri tea...I hope to see you again Lateef :)
