Ratneshwar Temple is indeed one of the most miraculous and mysterious temples the land of ancient city called Varanasi has. With every passing day arch science seems to develop, yet what remains mysterious to this day is how something so strong was carved back then in 19th century and created even prior to that in the imagination of the Indian artisans! While the world has such unique slanted wonders too, India has its own uniqueness in the form of this Kashi Karvat temple. It was erected with knowledge and held strong by devotee's devotion even after years of climatic changes. Also, it never fails to amaze its visitors with its architectural design showing up with a nagara shikhara (tip of the temple) and phamsana mandap (pillared hall). A sigh of exhilaration and curiosity envelops the crowd that witnesses it's central hall where worships are offered. The most surprising part about it is that it's deep sunk in water throughout the year except for some days when sun surrounds the region yet worship is offered on all these times. Visit this marvel carved by curators of imagination.

IT IS REALLY AMAZING AND VERY BEAUTIFUL. BUT THE SAD THING IS THAT PISA TOWER IS LEANING BY 4° ONLY AND IS WORLD HERITAGE MONUMENT. RATNESHWAR TEMPLE LEANS BY 9 ° BUT NOT EVEN MENTIONED AS TOURISTS SPOT . PLEASE MAKE THIS TEMPLE FAMOUS ALL AROUND THE WORLD .n( HINDUS OF INDIA )( HINDUS POWER ) ud83dudea9ud83dudea9

Ratneshwar temple near Manikarnika Ghat, in Varanasi is dedicated to Shiva.nIt is also called Kashi Karvat, meaning leaning temple of Kashi.n(Kashi is the ancient name for Varanasi & Karvat means leaning).nnThe temple with a Shikara & a pillared hall, is built at a lower level, close to the Ganges river.nSo the water level reaches the shikhara & the sanctum remains submerged under Ganges water for most of the year.nnThis temple stood straight before 1860snHowever it has developed a 9° slant, due to structural problems.nThis tilt is higher than the Italy's famous Leaning Tower of PisannThere are a couple of interesting stories attached to this impressive architectural phenomenon.nOne story says that this temple was built by Raja Man Singh's servant, for his mother Ratna Bai. Once the temple was ready, he proudly declared that he had repaid his mother's debt.nAs the debt to one’s mother can never be repaid, the temple started to lean.nnSome others believe the temple was built by Ratna Bai, a female servant of Ahilya Bai of Indore.nAhilya Bai cursed the temple to lean because her servant had named it after herself.
