Hands down one of the best attractions in Ranikhet region. Kumaon regiment has a glorious past which is laid out nicely here. Best places to get an overview of our Army's heritage are such museums. Kid, elderly, couple, family, solo friendly. Be prepared to spend at least an hour. I'd advice spending half day here. Just seeing things doesn't give much clue. Reading and feeling things on display here is what takes time.nnYou'll have to submit your purses and mobiles at the entrance. They don't lock it but just keep in a drawer so it is not very inspiring. Better leave those locked in your car.

Great museum, right opposite KRC Quarter Guard. The museum is a great snapshot of KRC history and folks with a historical sense can see how the regiment transitions from being from a force for the East India Company (the Museum has a sceptre that they claim is from Rani Jhansi) to a British Indian Army regiment to an Indian Army regiment. Utterly fascinating and in these over nationalistic era, a good reminder that nation making is a process.nnTip: Museum closes at 5 pm. Time your visit so that you can see the Quarter Guard ceremony at 5 30 pm. Worth it.

The whole place is maintained by army generals it's neat well arranged & maintained the Kamaun museum needs a special mention all in all loved the place

Must visit this museum in ranikhet. Enjoy the way care taker Rte. colonel explain the importance of each article in the meusium.
