Azad park was built in 1924 according to the local historians in colonial era of British to commemorate the victory of the first world war into (1914 to 1918 was the bracket when Mr Nitin go was the governor of Bombay presidency original name Victoria garden popularly known as Rani Bagh by the then locus a variety of use tropical trees were planted then which were brought from countries like South Africa's and Malaysia accept if we still exist till date the park was built on a small hill lock is elevation is 738 metres after independence in 1947 once again a circular dome structure was built with best of Mahatma Gandhi and was constructed in 1955 in the park was renamed Azad park after the name of the great revolutionary freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad.

Azad park located in heart of Dharwad city near old bus stand was built in the year 1924 according to the local Historians as I recollected the accounts from them.It was built to commemorate the victory of world war 1 (1914-1918) during the colonial British Era when Mr Lilinthgow was the Governor of Bombay presidency originally named Victoria Garden popularly known as Rani bagicha by the locals at that time.A variety of Tropical ud83cudf32 trees saplings we're planted which we're brought from countries like south Africa ,zanjibar Burma,Malasyia etc which exist till date.This park was built on a small Hillock in three stages upper , middle and lower.Its elevation is 738 M/sl . After independence in 1947 once again in the year 1955 a circular dome with a bust of Mahatma Gandhi was added by the muncipality and the park was renamed Azad park after the great Indian revelotunary freedom fighter chandrashekhar Azad . This park is presently maintained by HDMC .A variety of colourful flowers adore this park with lush green lawns.There are around 7 water pools with fountains and lights which add to their beauty you can find a fish pond with lotuses near the entrance of the park. It's serene peaceful environment beacons innumerable visitors.open to the public from 8am to 12 pm and 4pm to 8pm.

This is a park which is very near to the Dharwad Old Bus Stand and opposite to the BRTS terminal.nnTimings :nnMorning - 8AM to 12 PMnnEvening - 5PM to 8 PMnnIt is a Big park.nnIt has a water slope fountain stretching the length of the park from entrance gate to the gandhi memorial.nnThere is also a small temple under a tree.nnWalking path is clearly marked.nnMaintenance is good. Lots of flowers and good selfie spots.nnIt has very special significance to Dharwad.nnDo visit once with friends
