Sadhu Kochukunj Upadesi Memorial Hall

It is a historic place where Sadhu Kochukunju Upadesi, a well known revival leader and author of many well known Christian devotional songs, lived and served many decades.nHe preached the Word of God fervently to thousands around south India and Sri Lanka. He was a humble man of God, who lived accordingly. His songs are so powerful and touching our hearts.

If you have a thing to visit memorials and learn one or two about history, this place is fine. Maintained well. The current generation who is maintaining the whole place, is very hospitable, warm and welcoming.

A historic place which is still vibrant with the memories of the legendary Sadhu Kochukunju Upadeshi. It offers an insight into the life and work of the man who is known mainly otherwise through his famous Christian devotional songs.

Sadhu Kochoonju Upadesi was a famous Malayalam Christian preacher, poet and composer. Kochoonju was a very distinctive person in appearance. He always carried an umbrella and his Bible where ever he went. His saintly life, self-control, self-denial, and commitment towards social issues made him a unique person. He liked to spend time alone with Bible; to him the Bible was not a book to be read but an instruction book which should be followed in day-to-day life. Much of his time he spent in reading.
