One of the oldest and best known schools at Alappuzha. It has a 'nalukettu and nadumuttam' an ancient building structure and an art gallery depicting its old, grandiloquent past history.

The Sanatana Dharma Vidyasala was founded on 18th January 1905 by a team of socially committed citizens of Alappuzha led by Rao Bahadur K.A. Krishna Iyengar, Dr. S. Venkitarama Naidu and others on the inspiration and motivation of the eminent Theosophist Dr. Annie Besant . In the year 1946, by the efforts of Sri. K Parthasarathy Iyengar and Sri. V.Sundara Raja Naidu, sons of the founding fathers,a college under the name Sanatana Dharma College was started in the vidyasala compound., which was inaugurated by Dr. C P Ramaswamy Iyer, the Diwan of erstwhile State of Travancore.
